Bow Pose
Dhanurasana (dah-noo-rah-sah-nah[needs IPA]; Sanskrit: धनुरासन; IAST: Dhanurāsana), Bow Pose, or sometimes Urdva Chakrasana (Upward Wheel Pose) is an asana. The name comes from the Sanskrit words Dhanura (धनुर, Dhanura) meaning "bow", and Asana (आसन, Āsana) meaning "posture" or "seat".
- Stretches the entire front of the body, ankles, thighs and groins, abdomen and chest, and throat, and deep hip flexors (psoas)
- Strengthens the back muscles
- Improves posture
- Stimulates the organs of the abdomen and neck
