DHARMA INC was established to aid people in empowering themselves to live lives of meaning, enjoyment and contribution. Our aim is to contextualize the ancient wisdom traditions of Central Asia for modern times, making them effective, practical and available for all.

Kailash Akhara is the international headquarters for DHARMA INC. As the center of our worldwide operations, Kailash Akhara serves as a thriving example of how the Dharma teachings can be expressed through conscious individuals and sustainable communities. At Kailash Akhara, Dharma practice and study, enjoyment and service are the foundations of daily life.

We are located in Loei province, the beautiful hills of northern Thailand near the famed Mekong river. The center sits on over 25 acres of lush land, with inspiring mountain views, numerous ponds, gardens and forested areas. Our land is cultivated in a sustainable fashion, guided by the principles of permaculture. The stunning natural scenery provides an idyllic setting to practice, study, contemplate and relax.

Kailash Akhara is a unique combination of a Dharma retreat center and an intimate residential dharma community. We run a regular schedule of classes, courses, conferences, short and long retreats and Acarya training programs. You’re also invited to come for a personal practice retreat or work-study program. Personalized instruction is available in the teachings offered by DHARMA INC. The center is happy to be a family-friendly environment, therefore family members and children of all ages are welcome.
