Cortijo Casería del Mercado is an organic farm in rural Southern Spain. Offering accommodation in the heart of the Alpujarra mountains, honouring nature, ecology and tradition!
Not only is the Cortijo a working farm, it has been adapted as a retreat centre with traditional Spanish accommodation, a natural mineral water swimming pool and a yoga studio with breathtaking views.
Fully organic, biodynamic farming is practiced and in addition to the huge array of fruit and vegetables grown on site the farm cares lovingly for goats, horses and a peacock breeding sanctuary.
The Cortijo has several apartments that have been completely restored. These apartments are complete with a living room, kitchen, fireplace or wood stove, two bedrooms and bathroom.
Simple yet comfortable accommodations with a communal and family feel.

This little organic farm is just so beautiful. It is rustic, getting you back in tune with nature and the host Joaquim is the most wonderful man I think I have ever met - passionate about traditional farming, seeds, FOOD and enjoying life. What a place for a retreat in the fresh mountain air!!
