Nicholas Barrett
Nicholas has been practicing yoga since 1999, teaching yoga since 2007, and started the Tree of Life Yoga School, for Yoga Teacher Training in 2011. In addition to teaching general classes, the Tree of Life Yoga School offers a Teacher Training Foundation course certified by the Yoga Alliance.
Nicholas gained his teaching qualification in Kerala, India at the Sivananda Yoga ashram. He has also been inspired by the teachings of BKS Iyengar. He has a dynamic teaching style with a strong focus on precise alignment and adjustments, holding the postures a long time to allow students to go in deeply via the body and the breath. He instils in his students the qualities of courage, confidence and being fully present!
Nicholas has traveled extensively to India and Thailand and has practiced yoga with advanced pupils of Iyengar, the Chanchani yogis. He has also studied Buddhist vipassana meditation and Thai Yoga Massage with the revered master Asokananda in Chang Mai Thailand. He has done courses in Ayurveda and has a keen interest in nutrition and healthy living.
