Frances Marine, 200-RYT

I began dabbling in yoga in 2002 as a healthy means of maintaining weight loss. In 2003, a dear friend introduced me to Vinyasa. Although my practice was sporadic at best, I loved it from day one. For me, yoga offered the only type of physical activity that actually got me out of my head and into my body. Eventually, getting into my body enhanced my ability to find happiness within my own heart.

During a transition in 2011, I started practicing more regularly. After a retreat to Belize in 2012 led by another close friend, my desire to deepen my own practice and share it with others led me to complete a 200-hour yoga teacher training course.

As a Cuban-American Miami native, I tend to think in two languages: English and Spanish. In either one, the word valor captures perfectly what yoga helps me cultivate. No matter where on the planet I find myself, worth is what I have in common with all human beings. We are each capable of courage when we choose faith over fear. Are you living your valor?

Namaste,
Frances
