Workshop - Not Your Grandmother's Chair Class
Description
“Props are a means to an end – such as alignment, stability, precision and staying longer in asanas. Props should be employed intelligently in pursuit of a more mature and mindful asanas practice.” ~ B.K.S. Iyengar
Although the chair is commonly viewed as a prop that helps make basic poses accessible to beginning students, it can also be a valuable tool for helping advanced practitioners access more challenging asanas and to go deeper into familiar ones. In this fun and challenging workshop for intermediate and advanced practitioners, we will use the chair as a tool that enables us to find the stability, precise positioning and alignment that allows us to go deeper and stay longer. Our sequence will cover a wide spectrum of asanas, including standing poses, forward bends, backbends, twists and inversions. Cost is $35.
