Workshop - The Art of Backbending

Description

Back bends are challenging and take time and patience. Bending backwards, opening up your heart may make you feel vulnerable. However, we come back to the mat again and again to learn how to move through challenging sensations rather than running away from it. Learn how to open your heart in a way that allows you to experience joy and freedom.

In this 3 hour workshop, Ka Mei Cheuk will lead a short Vinyasa flow to warm up the body and then move ways to safely deepen your back bend practice with posture clinic and time to practice.

• Dhanurasana - Floor Bow
• Ways to deepen your Crescent Moon pose
• Ways to move into full Camel (Ustrasana) pose
• Ways to deepen your Wheel (Urdhva Dhanurasana) pose
• Ways to move towards King Pigeon pose (Eka Pada Rajakapotasana)
• Ways to move towards King Dancer pose (Natarajasana)
