6:00-7:00 pm
Session One - June 13

My story (brief): Ashley is a real foods private chef and educator. She is passionate about food and its connection to our bodies. But it wasn't always this way. Although a lifelong food lover, Ashley did not grow up as conscious, healthy eater . After freshman year of college, she suffered from overeating problems and gained 50 pounds. Through diets, restriction, and starvation, she lost it all. Two years later, she gained 40 of it back by returning to her old habits. It wasn't until Ashley shifted her mindset about food, got truly connected to herself and stopped dieting completely that she reached a healthy weight and has maintained it for six years. Our relationships with food and our bodies as women are complex and intertwined. Diets do not work. It is not until we understand our relationship with the present moment that we can cure ourselves from obsessing about food and eating.

Why do we eat? Obviously we need to eat to survive, but what are the reasons we eat when we are full, when food no longer serves it's purpose in nourishing ourselves?

Learning to eat intuitively: eating what we want when we are hungry, stopping when we are full.

The world on our plates: the way we eat is a direct reflection of how we feel about life in the moment. Are we lost, anxious, nervous, bored?
